Hard Maple is a domestic hardwood found primarily in the Northern United States, but grows as far South as West Virginia. Hard Maple has a moderate texture and varying grain patterns sometimes called curly, figured, or birdseye.
Padauk is a tropical hardwood with moderately coarse texture and straight or slightly wavy patterns. Padauk grows in tropical climates including the South Pacific, India, Indochina, West Africa and even in South Florida.
